For my birthday last week, my other half surprised me with a weekend away. I knew we were going somewhere, but I had no idea where. I grew more and more intrigued about our destination as we headed into Gippsland, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
We wound up at Metung, a small fishing town near Lakes Entrance. It was absolutely stunning. My partner had booked us a brand new, five star, luxury apartment overlooking the water (http://www.5knots.com.au/). It was amazing.
The bread that looked like an ass...haha
We were greeted by a dining table laden with handmade chocolates (from local chocolatier Chocodence), handmade yoyo biscuits, bread, muesli and jam. Eggs and bacon were in the fridge, ready for us to make our own gourmet breakfast each morning. An orange juicer sat alongside a huge bowl of oranges so that we could enjoy freshly squeezed juice with our breakfast.
It was the perfect birthday - relaxing and beautiful.
